Our beginnings

In October 1972, Pastor Keck and his family moved to Green Bay, WI. The following year, in 1973, he founded First Bible Baptist Church (FBBC), initially holding services in his home.

Two months later, the church began renting a former grocery store at 2330 S. Webster Avenue.

The church leased this space for two years before purchasing the building, while also starting construction on a new building at 2605 Libal Street.

By late 1979, the new building was completed, and the congregation moved in, selling the Webster Avenue property.

FBBC remains at the Libal Street location to this day.

Since July 2020, Pastor Rick Matthews has served as pastor of FBBC, with Pastor Keck remaining on staff as associate pastor.

Our Ministries

Over the years, First Bible Baptist Church has supported various ministries, including nursing home and prison visits, a bus ministry, and a Christian school.

Currently, FBBC holds Bible studies for many different ages and groups, including college-aged adults and women. The church also hosts a Bible study outreach at the Bonduel Village Hall on Tuesdays and a nursing home ministry on Thursdays. Additionally, FBBC has regular outreach through tract distribution.

FBBC plays an active role in other churches’ growth, ordaining four men to the ministry. The church supports missionaries worldwide and has organized mission trips to Canada, Brazil, Honduras, Panama, and Mexico. FBBC maintains a missionary and his family in Brazil, supporting their work at Primeira Igreja Batista da Bíblia in Bauru.

Locally, FBBC fellowships with the Wisconsin Independent Baptist Fellowship (WIBF).

Our Vision

Since its founding 52 years ago, First Bible Baptist Church has remained steadfast in its doctrine. The church believes the King James Version of the Bible is perfect in both word and letter. Members are encouraged not only to believe the Bible but also to live by its teachings. Additionally, FBBC is committed to living debt-free, a principle it continues to uphold.
